Question

Does Jesus weeping at the grave of Lazarus prove He was only a man?

Answer

He said, “Why, He wasn’t Divine, Brother Branham,” said, “He couldn’t have been. I can prove to you by the Bible that He wasn’t Divine.” I said, “If you’ll prove it by the Bible I will accept it.” She said, “All right.” She said, “In Saint John the 11th chapter, the Bible said when Jesus was going down to the grave of Lazarus that He wept.” Said, “That proves that He was a Man; He cried tears like a mortal.” I said, “Sure He cried, but He was a God-Man.” I said, “When He got down to the grave of Lazarus, He might’ve cried like a man. But when a man that been laying there four days, dead and rotten, laying in the grave. And He rolled back the stone and the stink of it around everywhere, and He stood there, that same Man that’d been crying, and spoke, and said, ‘Lazarus, come forth.’ And a man that’d been dead four days and his soul four day’s journey somewhere, rose and stood on his feet, that was more than a man. That was God speaking through His Son. He was a God-Man.”
