Question

Does what a person expects affect what they receive from God in a meeting?

Answer

Did you ever expect something? Usually, you get just what you expect. Did you know that? If you come to the meeting, and would say, “Well, I’m going down there. There’s nothing to it,” well, that’s just what you’ll get out of it. If you would get down there, and say, “Well, I—I’ll go down there, but there’s no need of me going because I—I ain’t going to get healed,” well, that’s just the way you’ll go back. But if you come expecting God to do something for you, He’ll do it. If you expect to find something to criticize the meeting, criticize the way it’s conducted, Satan will show you plenty of it, you’ll find plenty. But if you come, not to criticize the meeting, you’ve come, saying, “God, I want to see where You are in it,” God will show you Himself in it. Just whatever you expect, God will give it to you. It’s your expectancy.
