Question

Why did Martha believe Jesus could still help after her brother had died?

Answer

The woman, Martha, knew that the Shunammite realized that God was in His prophet. And if God was in His prophet, surely God was in His Son. So if she could get to Jesus, she would have the remedy. So she runs and falls down before Him. She said, “Lord, if,” that’s what He was, Lord, “if Thou would have been here, my brother would not have died. But, even now, whatever You ask God, God will do it.” Oh, I like that. “Even now, whatever You ask God, God will do it.”
